Yumuşak Kontakt Lensler ve Uygulama Özellikleri Figen ALAÇAYIR ÖZET Yumuşak kontakt lensler, torik özellikleriyle 4D’ye kadar olan astigmatizmaların tashihinde de kullanılabilmeleriyle, çok yaygın bir kullanım alanı bulmaktadırlar. Hidrojel ve silikondan üretilen bu lensler, hidrojelin yumuşaklık konforunu silikonun yüksek oksijen geçirme özelliğiyle birleştirirler. Ayrıca bu lensler yüzeylerinde taşıdıkları kimyasal reaktif gruplara göre farklı özellikler kazanırlar. Yumuşak lenslerin su içeriklerine, materyal ve iyonik özelliklerine, üretim tekniklerine bağlı olarak çok farklı avantajları ve dezavantajları bulunmaktadır. Uygulamada tam bir oftalmik muayene, keratometri ve topografi ile hastaya uygun ölçülerdeki lens seçilir ve her hasta için o hastanın özel şartları gözönüne alınarak, lense ait üretim özellikleri tek tek irdelenip uygun lense karar verilir. They are produced of hydrogel and silicone, combining the comfort of softness of hydrogel with the advantage of high O2 permeability of silicone material. Soft lenses show different behaviour according to the reactive chemical groups on their polymer surfaces. Soft lenses have different advantages and disadvantages due to their water contents, material, ionic properties and production techniques. Correct fitting of soft contact lenses should start with a detailed ophthalmic examination, keratometry and topography. After choosing the base curve, diameter and refractive power, to choose the proper lens for the patient, one should also consider the production properties of the lens according to the patient’s environmental conditions.
