Özet

İnflamatuar barsak hastalıkları gastrointestinal sistemi etkileyen etiyolojisi tam olarak aydınlatılamamış bir grup hastalığı içermektedir. Bu hastalıklar remisyon ve alevlenme periyotları ile seyreden kronik seyirli hastalıklardır. Son dönemlerde inflamatuar barsak hastalıkları etiyopatogenez ile ilgili bilgilerin artmasını sağlayan yoğun araştırmaların konusu olmuştur. Bu çalışmalar sonucunda yeni tedavi seçenekleri geliştirilmiş ve hastaların hayat kaliteleri artmıştır. Bu yazıda, inflamatuar barsak hastalıklarında tanısal yaklaşım, patoloji, klinik seyir ve sık görülen komplikasyonlar, hastalığın aktivitesinin değerlendirilmesi, medikal ve cerrahi tedaviler üzerinde durulmuştur.

Inflammatory Bowel Diseases

Summary

Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis) encompasses a group of diseases with poorly defined etiology that affect the gastrointestinal tract. These diseases are characterized by their chronic course and by periods of disease activity, that alternate with periods of clinical remission. Recently, inflammatory bowel disease has been the object of intense research, which has increased knowledge of the etiopathogenesis. This has enabled the development of a new generation drugs, thus improving quality of life in patients. In this paper we discuss the current diagnostic approach, their pathology, clinical course, and common complications, the assessment of disease activity, and medical and surgical management.
